About LIMASA

Survivor-led advocacy for justice, dignity, and healing

Mission

To secure justice and comprehensive survivor support through advocacy, public education, and accountable institutions.

Vision

A Liberia where survivors are heard, protected, and empowered in a society rooted in truth and reconciliation.

History

Our History

A respectful look at how survivors organized, advocated, and built an enduring movement for truth, dignity, and justice in Liberia.

LIMASA was established as a survivor-led institution to protect memory, demand accountability, and ensure that families affected by mass violence had a unified platform for representation.

Liberia's conflict period left deep wounds across communities. The history section preserves context while honoring those lost and centering the experiences of survivors who continue to seek recognition and redress.

Local survivor networks gradually connected across counties and the diaspora, creating coordinated documentation efforts, testimony gathering, and community healing programs rooted in solidarity.

LIMASA has consistently engaged policymakers, legal institutions, and civil society partners to advance accountability, memorialization, and safeguards that prevent future abuses.

Today, LIMASA supports survivors through outreach, psychosocial referrals, legal advocacy, and institutional partnerships designed to strengthen human rights and ethical governance in Liberia.
